Hanover - The state medical association () has pointed out the unpaid overtime of the resident doctors in Lower Saxony. According to this, the 13,767 health insurance physicians and psychotherapists in Lower Saxony have worked over ten million hours of overtime without pay in the past two years. In the specialist area alone, around quarter of all services were not remunerated.
KV documents this development with so-called overtime clock on the Internet. “The background to our campaign is the often overlooked fact that remuneration for medical services is limited and that every doctor has budget beyond which he is no longer remunerated for his work. At the same time, the expectations of politicians and the public are directed towards the fact that doctors are always available promptly, "said the chairman of the KV, Mark Barjenbruch, in Hanover.

He pointed out that many doctors still give their patients appointments when their budget has already been exhausted, so they cannot expect any additional remuneration for this treatment. Barjenbruch criticized the “unrealizable performance promises made by politics” in view of the fee cap, which are also coupled with the political demand for shorter waiting times.
