Magdeburg - The number of working doctors in Saxony-Anhalt continued to rise slightly in the past year - but more and more of them are working part-time. The figures from the State Medical Association also show that there are fewer very young and more older doctors. The number of doctors up to 30 years of age fell nationwide from almost 700 in 2018 to 645 now. The number of doctors over 60 years of age rose from 1,485 to just under 1,540.
The largest age group was made up of 50 to 59-year-olds with around 2,700 doctors. According to the Chamber, the number of 30 to 39-year-old doctors rose from around 2,500 to around 2,630.
