8.6 million euros paid out for a care bonus in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has undertaken - like some other states - to increase this amount by up to 500 euros. Since the federal government is taking on around two thirds of the special allocations, around 25 million euros have so far been paid out in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The special payments remain duty-free and tax-free if the nurses work between the beginning of March and the end of October at least Worked in care facility for three months, it said. The amount of the surcharge depends on the type of care activity and the working hours and varies between 100 and 1,000 euros. Added to this are the surcharges of the countries.

The service union Verdi had asked the state government in Schwerin, referring to the generally low wages in the care sector, to extend the corona bonus to all employees in the health care system in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This procedure practiced by the neighboring state of Schleswig-Holstein was not adopted for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
