Berlin “Around 700 million euros have now been paid out for the corona bonus for employees in geriatric care. The Federal Ministry of Health announced this on request. Around 680 million euros went to care facilities as employers, and another 20 million euros to service companies.
The funds paid out in mid-July should have reached the nursing staff by now, said spokesman for the ministry. Employees should receive the bonus directly from their employers. According to the ministry, there will be second payment date in December.
In total, around 80 percent of Nursing facilities have submitted an application for the corona premium to be financed, as can be seen from the figures from the umbrella association of statutory health insurances outpatient area partly financed by health insurance. The Bundestag passed the bonus in mid-May. The total costs were estimated at one billion euros, the federal government has already announced subsidy to the health insurance companies.
