Konstanz - A 53-year-old accompanied 91 patient transports of heart patients without being doctor: The district court of Konstanz sentenced the trained nurse to two years probation on Tuesday, among other things for fraud. At the end of 2012, the woman had applied to the rescue service of Swiss clinic on Lake Constance as specialist in anesthesia and worked as freelance emergency doctor in Constance without authorization. In court, she admitted the allegations.
In order to get the job, the woman, who now lives in Berlin, had submitted forged certificates from the perspective of the chamber. "You have produced false documents, stolen your work as doctor and used titles, even though you knew you were not allowed to do so," said the judge when the verdict was pronounced. The woman had built pile of lies with the wrong documents. When she noticed that it was working, she overestimated herself and put people at risk. “Thank goodness nothing happened.”
Until June 2013, the 53-year-old worked for the rescue service from Constance. When allegations arose against her, the woman was initially released and later the employment relationship was terminated, according to the Bodensee Heart Center, to which the rescue service belongs.
The clinic's manager testified as witness in the trial against the 53-year-old. There were no problems during the time she was working for the emergency services. Her colleagues didn't notice anything either, he said. “If you work long enough in the care sector, you have lot of experience in narrow specialist area.”
The judge also certified the 53-year-old's specialist knowledge. Even though she damaged the reputation of the medicine, the court decided to give her chance. “We hope that you will use this procedure as warning so that this does not happen again. We will keep an eye on you in the future. ”
The prosecutor had previously demanded two-year and five-month prison sentence for the 53-year-old. The defendant, who was convicted in 2011 and 2013, among other things for misuse of titles, tends to present herself to the outside world as “more than she actually is”. This thinking is not over - it is therefore to be expected with further criminal offenses.
