Dresden - The will again award 20 study places for medicine at the in Hungary. High school graduates can apply for one of the sponsored places in the German-language course in human medicine until the end of January. In addition, the Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs is participating in the project and will finance further study places from 2020/21. A total of 40 high school graduates were given the chance to study medicine in Hungary, announced the KV.
KV Sachsen has developed the project "Studying in Europe - Future in Saxony" according to its own information to address the shortage of doctors in Country to counteract. Since 2013, 20 students who have started their medical studies in the German-language human medicine course at the University of Pécs in Hungary have been funded. The tuition fees are financed for the duration of the standard period of study, i.e. for twelve semesters. In return, the sponsored students undertake to complete further training as general practitioner in Saxony after their studies and to work as general practitioner in Saxony outside the cities of Leipzig / Markkleeberg and Dresden / Radebeul for at least five years.

The model project is financed from the structural fund to ensure medical care in Saxony, which is shared equally by KV Sachsen and the Saxon health insurance companies. The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs is responsible for the 20 additional study places that have now been added.
