Joint Federal Committee, Berlin With this year's conference for the third time Federal Medical Association, current political positioning of the medical profession in health prevention is discussed. The addressees of the conference are both doctors, for whom prevention is central element of their daily professional practice, and the professional medical organizations involved in prevention. In particular, the conference will deal with the role of the doctor in health promotion and prevention, highlight necessary developments in the framework conditions and present existing models of medical health advice and prevention in practical manner. Examples from the fields of nutrition, exercise and advice for smokers are presented to make it more specific.
