Hamburg - After the introduction of the so-called pay-as-you-go financing last year, there has been leap up in geriatric care training in Hamburg: 485 young people have started training, 111 (around 30 percent) more than in the previous year. During the two-year training as health and care assistant, the number of trainees has increased from 161 to 245.

Hamburg has meanwhile distributed the costs for training allowances to all companies in the industry - regardless of whether they train or not. Training thus becomes competitive advantage for companies. The companies in the geriatric care sector have increased their training efforts accordingly.
Apprenticeship levy for geriatric care in Hamburg complete success “The introduction of the apprenticeship levy for geriatric care in Hamburg is huge success. All care associations are delighted that this further step in the training of geriatric care specialists has been successful, ”said Martin Sielaff, Managing Director of Hamburgische Pflegeegesellschaft eV.
