Article 1 amendments to the agreement (Annex 2a BMV-Ä)
1. Number 1.3.4 changes as follows:
“With the changeover to the data formats of the electronic health card only the dynamic format is used for the barcode. The individual data fields are separated with the field separator TAB. There are two standard barcodes from which the common barcode types are derived:
- Standard barcode with maximum of 163 characters
and span>
- shortened standard barcode with maximum of 65 characters.
As rule, every form with barcode has the standard barcode or the shortened standard barcode. These are supplemented by form-specific information in the barcode, if necessary.
A distinction is made between the following barcode types:
1 = standard barcode span >
2 = shortened standard barcode
3 = standard barcode and form-specific entries
4 = shortened standard barcode and form-specific entries
5 = only form-specific entries (if personal data are not provided)
When generating of the barcode, as with the printing of the personal data field, the applicable KVDT reference format in accordance with the technical appendix to appendix 4a BMV-Ä.
Overview of the barcodes:
Standard barcode type 1, max. 163 characters

Standard barcode type 2 (shortened barcode), max. 65 characters

Standard barcode type 3
The standard barcode type 3 contains the same fields as the standard barcode type 1, but additional form-specific entries can be added.
Standard barcode type 4
The standard barcode type 4 contains the same fields as the abbreviated standard barcode (type 2), but additional form-specific entries can be added.
Barcode type 5
The barcode type 5 only contains form-specific entries and is used when personal data is not provided: “ span>

The changes will come into force on 01.01.2016.
