Frankfurt / Cologne - The attitude of the employers in the so-called Regionalkommission Mitte (RK Mitte) has criticized the (MB) North Rhine-Westphalia / Rhineland-Palatinate (NRW / RLP). They also blocked adequate remuneration for their employees shortly before Christmas. “That is completely incomprehensible. In this way, the employers are steering frivolous austerity course, ”criticized Ingo Flenker, Vice Chairman of the MB NRW / RLP. This tactic threatened the economic existence of around 90 Catholic hospitals in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland, he warned.
The doctors in the hospitals affected in the three federal states have been earning less than doctors since the beginning of 2012 at comparable Catholic clinics or at around 800 municipal hospitals nationwide. "Nobody should be surprised if the doctors are now migrating from these hospitals and going to where better salaries are paid," said Flenker. The employer is responsible for such an escape from the doctor.
It is completely incomprehensible that the RK Mitte ignored the resolutions of the Caritas Federal Commission that were taken months ago. This had decided in the middle of the year that the doctors at Catholic hospitals should receive an increase in their salaries retrospectively from the beginning of the year, at the same time as the increases due to the collective agreement for doctors at municipal clinics.
Instead of following this decision, the employers in the RK Mitte expressed "absurd ideas" according to Flenker: This includes gradually increasing income with one-year delay from January 2013 and to offer small one-off payment for 2012, which does not even come close to being called “compensation”. In addition, according to the MB, employers even want to lower the remuneration for the lower wage groups. “These suggestions were unacceptable for the employees. The remuneration round of the RK Mitte has thus failed ”, so the conclusion of the MB NRW / RLP.
The negotiations are to be continued on February 6, 2013 with the start of the new term of office of the RK Mitte.
