Münster “In the first quarter of this year, sales at 1,333 practices in WestfaÂlen-Lippe fell by more than ten percent due to corona. These practices - including mainly psychotherapeutic practices and outpatient surgeons - therefore receive financial support from what is known as the protective umbrella. The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) has now pointed this out.
œOur doctors and psychotherapists were there for their patients even under difficult conditions and cared for them. They didna ™ t close their practices “didna ™ t duck back “ they took care of things, said the KV board chairman Dirk Spelmeyer last Friday at the KV representatives' meeting.
However, he pointed out that so far only the provisional accounting figures from January to March were available. œThe numbers for the second quarter will definitely look different, said Spelmeyer. The hard lockdown in April also affected the resident doctors and psychotherapists, of course.
He is therefore certain that the protective screen would have to be used by significantly more practices in the second quarter. However, Spelmeyer emphasized that even in this phase of the pandemic, the practices would have adjusted themselves flexibly and imaginatively to the new situation and got back to normal operations as quickly as possible.
œThe outpatient medical care in Westphalia-Lippe was present and has taken place for the past six months. The resident doctors and psychotherapists in our part of the country are and will remain the stable basis of health care in our region, ”emphasized the KV boss at the meeting of representatives.
