Paris - In French retirement home, 13 residents died of flu within two weeks. Six other residents of the old people's home in Lyon in the south-east of the country are in hospital with flu, as the Ministry of Health announced in Paris. Health Minister Marisol Touraine called for quick clarification about the causes of this "unusual incident".
France is currently suffering from nationwide flu epidemic. Since the beginning of November, 381 flu patients came to the emergency room, 22 of them died. People over the age of 80 make up 63 percent of those who have to be hospitalized for flu.
