118th German Medical Congress

The 118th German Medical Conference , the parliament of the German medical profession, met in May in Frankfurt / Main to provide impetus for health policy and to advise on important professional issues. The focus was on the Statutory Health Insurance Care Strengthening Act, the planned hospital reform by the federal government, the Prevention Act and the planned anti-corruption regulations for the healthcare system. Against the background of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the 250 MPs discussed which measures can be taken against the threat of global epidemics. Furthermore, they dealt with the further development of the communicative skills of doctors. Medical students also took part in the discussions, among them the President of the Federal Representation of Medical Students in Germany (bvmd), Naomi Lämmlin. ER
