Hamburg / Schwerin - The number for the medical on-call service 116117 is not known enough to North Germans from the perspective of the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK). TK announced today that only half knew about this number.
This is the result of survey of 1,002 people aged 18 and over in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. By contrast, almost all of the respondents would have heard of the emergency number 112.
"The coexistence of the two numbers 112 and 116117 is not expedient" , announced the head of the, Maren Puttfarcken. She proposes for the Hanseatic city to create common control center for the two numbers, which should dispose the rescue service, fire protection, technical assistance, disaster control and the emergency medical service (116117).
So the rescue equipment could depending on Need and emergency situation are better coordinated, added Puttfarcken.
