Dresden - The Saxon university medicine receives additional funding of 108 million euros. The budget committee of the state parliament today approved two corresponding proposals from the finance ministry. As the ministry announced, the money will be made available to the university medical centers in Dresden and Leipzig.
In the state capital, the Free State is supporting the construction of the “Center for Mental Health and Aging Research Center” with 85 million euros. The improvement of the IT equipment at the Leipzig University Hospital is being funded with around 23 million euros. Both measures served to reduce the investment backlog at the university clinics, said Science Minister Eva-Maria Stange (SPD). “These investments keep University Medicine in Saxony efficient and competitive.”
